Giving Back

Can you guess what's the number one goal for 2014??? I guessed "being healthy", "losing weight", or maybe "building wealth". But fortunately, I was wrong! The number 1 goal in 2014 is "Giving Back"!! I am pleasantly surprised! The number 1 goal in America is not about their selves, but about others. Learning this made me think. I always said that you must help yourself, before you help others. While I still agree with this notion, why can we manage ourselves and actions and be able to help ourselves and others at the same time? Is that too much? I want to promote this new way of thinking. So, how can we help others. Many of our environments are so large, we don't know where to start. Let's just observe our environments and find any aspect that could be improved. Anything. Nutrition, poverty, school attendance, laws, malls, crime, trash, recycling, ...... Let's try to think of one aspect in our environment that we will dedicate to improve.

Back To School Already?!

As a undergraduate student, I was used to taking a whole month off from classes. As a graduate student and an ambitious student, my break was shorten to less than two weeks. But if I live like no other, then later I will live like no other. So, I'm working hard now, so later I can live comfortably and purposely. But I have to confess my love-hate relationship with school. Honestly, my current dream job would be to be a full time student. However, before my classes start, I usually become nervous and dread going back to school. On the other hand, I would much rather study and gain knowledge more than working a full time job. But of course, my bills do not care of my professional development. BGE and Comcast just want their money. So, here I am a full time student and a full time employee. What is a girl to do? Well my best advice is to prioritize and work hard. Is it difficult? Sure is!! I have been excelling in my classes and will be graduating this summer, but I also have to admit that there are areas in my life that I need to work on (health, fitness, organization). Getting back to prioritizing....I find my life slightly put together when I follow a schedule and when I plan. Yes, I plan everything. From shopping, meals, cleaning, outfits, money....a lot of planning. I try to keep my schedule consisitent, but as we all know schedules change. Sometimes, my schedule change monthly or by each semester. The point is to plan and make a schedule. Also, checking your schedule. Your written schedule isn't helpful unless you look at it EVERY DAY! I enjoy planning out my days, but I go crazy when I forget assignments or appointments when I don't look at my schedule. I keep it with my everywhere! Try it!

Work hard pays off. Nothing worth having ever pays off
Yes it is! How wonderful is that?! School and all of Michaels hard work will be completely worth it! Happy for him! And eventually all of my hard work will pay off too!:) I love that!

Welcome 2014!!!!!!!

2014 MANIFESTO | Blair Blogs
We made it!!! It's 2014!!! So, what's next for everyone? I have New Year Resolutions, and I hope that many of you are planning to better yourself. I actually started my resolutions before 2014, but it's never too late. Let's start today! Why? Because starting today is earlier than starting tomorrow. So, let's not postpone the more awesome side of you! Some of my resolutions are actual measured goals and others are goals that are difficult to measure. For the goals that can not yet be measured, I am planning to make them measurable. Also, some of my goals can be accomplished in one year, then others may need some more time. Let's take a look at my plans:

Goals:
1. Live purposely
2. Connect more with family members
3. Be fabulous
4. Stop procrastinating

Measured goals:
1. Follow Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps
2. Graduate with a masters degree
3. Attend church regularly
4. Lose weight
5. Give each month
